NW Computing is a registered telecommunications service provider and works with all of the major Australian carriers. We can put together a cost-effective, multi-vendor, multi-transport network, allowing connectivity across offices and to cloud services such as Azure and AWS, while giving you a single point of contact and one monthly bill.

Fibre

With more and more requirements for cloud and remote connectivity, having sufficient internet bandwidth is imperative. A fibre-optic connection is the gold standard, allowing essentially no limits to internet speeds.

The technology works by transmitting light through a glass encased cable, which allows the signal to travel up to 50 kms from the exchange without any drop in speed. Unfortunately fibre is not available everywhere – but the network is growing every day, and the majority of metropolitan areas already have ample access to fibre.

NW Computing provides businesses in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Adelaide with 1000Mbps symmetrical speeds at extremely cost effective prices. Through our relationships with TPG, Telstra Wholesale, Vocus, and others, we are able to mix and match their best speeds at their best prices – but with our award winning support and management.

Please contact NW Computing if you wish to have a service qualification to find out if fibre is available at your address.

Fixed Wireless

Fixed wireless connections create a link between a transmission tower and an antenna installed at your premises (on the roof, wall, or mounted on a pole). Fibre-like speeds are possible, and fixed wireless uses radio waves which are not affected by weather – so the connection is extremely reliable and suitable for low latency applications like voice and video conferencing. Depending on the antenna and speeds desired, wireless distances of over 50km are possible. As with all of our other connection types, your fixed wireless connection can provide high-speed and reliable access to a cloud environment, to other offices, and to the internet.

NBN

NW Computing supplies NBN connections to businesses throughout Australia. With the NBN, businesses can get high speed connectivity at very attractive price points.

There are a couple of different speed options which are available depending on the location of your business and the equipment that your local exchange is equipped with. The following maximum NBN connection speeds are available:

  • 12 Mbps Download / 1 Mbps Upload
  • 25 Mbps Download / 5 Mbps Upload
  • 25 Mbps Download / 5-10 Mbps Upload
  • 25-50 Mbps Download / 5-20Mbps Upload
  • 25-100 Mbps Download / 5-40Mbps Upload

Internet connections are available on between 12 and 36 month terms.

The physical NBN lines are owned by NBNCo – regardless of which provider you go through. The difference with providers is not the line itself, but are how the connection is managed, and how its supported. If you can’t afford your internet to go down, talk to NW Computing about our local, 24/7 support, as well as live failovers to backup internet connections.

Satellite

In very remote areas, connectivity options are limited – and at times a satellite connection is the best solution for a primary or backup link. With a satellite connection the latency is very high and can be a limiting factor (as the signal needs to travel to a high-earth orbit and back, it is not ideal for certain applications like remote connectivity, voice, or video conferencing. Satellite connections are often not as expensive as expected (but are still amongst the highest cost per GB).

4G / 4GX

4G can provide speeds of 2-50Mbps and 4GX can provide speeds of 5-1000Mbps, depending on factors such as location, reception, and congestion. Whether as a primary or a backup link, 4G or 4GX can provide adequate bandwidth, and can be secured by connectivity into a private WAN or via VPN to allow access to company resources.
